Throughout the years, glass as a packaging material has been threatened by many new non-natural products.
Most of these threats have been overcome because of the unique and pleasing characteristics of glass and
the consumer's recognition of these characteristics. Research has determined that the consumer prefers glass
above all other packaging material, because:
- glass containers maintain the product quality longer
- glass does not harm the environment
- glass bottles have no influence on the taste or the consistency of its contents
- glass is strong and offers a good protection for the product
- glass is clean and therefore the most hygienic sort of packaging
- glass radiates quality: a glass-filled product has more style and appeal
- glass bottles & jars can be recycled 100% time and time again.(Plastic can be recycled, but only a few times and not 100%.)
- from all used glass 85% is being recycled to new glass (with plastic this is 25%).
So now more than ever, it's no surprise that glass is the first choice for producers, suppliers and consumers.
